Behind the Name

The name Soul Pursuit Outdoors represents our calling, passion, & mission in hunting & our relationship with Jesus. We believe the name contains three major pillars that help us answer the question, “What is our Why,” both as outdoorsmen & as followers of Jesus.

Soul

We love what the word “soul” represents. It’s our essence, our being, and what shapes us as humans. The simple truth is this; that having a soul is synonymous with having purpose. Our souls make up who we are, and our faith in Jesus & hunting are a huge part of who we are. What the outdoors does for our soul is like very few things we have experienced. The outdoors refreshes, renews, and impacts us to our core. Our relationship with God & out outdoor pursuits shapes who we are and how we live.

Pursuit

The part of hunting we love the most is the pursuit of the animals we hunt and the memories we create in the midst of the pursuit. It’s also the sole (soul) pursuit of a specific target animal. Whether it be out west chasing bugling elk, in the flooded timber of Arkansas, or the rolling hills of the northeast chasing whitetails, the pursuit is what we live for. The pursuit encompasses much more than just the success. While we still strive to harvest an animal, it is not what is most important to us. The more time we’ve spent outdoors, the more we’ve realized that our souls need the outdoors, the friendships forged and sustained, and the memories created along the way. The pursuit represents all of the aspects of hunting we love the most.

Soul Pursuit

Finally, our why can be answered by asking the question, “What is our Soul Pursuit,” not only as hunters, but also as followers of Jesus. To us, that answer is straight forward. We believe we were created in the image of God, to bring honor and glory to him, while making an impact for His kingdom. Our Soul Pursuit in life is to live out that why. We believe hunting and the outdoors is a platform that allows us to grow closer to God & create meaningful relationship in life. The fellowship experienced through hunting and the time spent in the outdoors has drawn us closer to God.
